Fibromyalgia Testimonial

Disclaimer: We do not claim that the Mangosteen Juice cures fibromyalgia, or other diseases, we just want to share the personal experiences of people who have had success with it. Actual results will vary.

To anyone with Fibromyalgia,

I am a 62 year old woman who was finally diagnosed with Fibro. in my mid 50's.

I have been on Celebrex, Lexpro (for depression), high blood pressure medication, acid reflux med and Tarazadone for sleeping. I took a total of 9 pills a day. Plus the side effects were not good.. I had also tried Bextra.

Nothing was working to give me a good quality of life. I started taking mangosteen juice (xango) about 3 years ago. What did I have to lose? I felt better right away, I felt my stress disappear and my pain became very minimal: I had my life back.

I weaned myself off my 3 celebrex a day and eventually all my meds.

I take 1 oz 3 times a day with food to keep my pain under control.

If I put my back out I drink 1/2 glass once or twice a day and go to bed to rest it and I'm fine and back to normal the next day. Basically if I have extra pain I drink more, but 1 oz 3 times a day keeps me going strong.

Other perks I have found is that I don't get colds or flu and I use it topically for cuts or bites.

I hope this helps someone, I know it sure helped me..

Mangosteen Juice Recommended By Dr. Oz on the Oprah Winfrey Show

Here is an excerpt of what Dr. Oz said on the Oprah Winfrey Show. This is slide 10 of a 15 page slideshow on Oprah.com:

Goji berries, manogsteen and purslane

Other foods that Dr. Oz says can improve vitality are goji berries and mangosteen. He says these foods are ancient healing tools that have strong antioxidants to promote everything from sexuality to longevity.

Another vitality food that Dr. Oz recommends is a weed called purslane. "Purslane is rich in omega-3 fats. Those are the healthy oils we want to coat our membranes and our joints," Dr. Oz says. "You can make them in salads. In my home, we mix them with yogurt and garlic and it's just spectacular."

New Mangosteen Research Establishes Xanthone Measurement Standard

XanGo, LLC, recognized creator of the mangosteen supplement category is leading scientific exploration of the whole mangosteen fruit (Garcinia mangostana) through a tiered approach based on safety, standardization and efficacy. In a study published in the June 2007 issue of the Journal of Separation Science, researchers established a credible scientific method for testing and measuring xanthones. Preliminary results from a separate study conducted on XanGo® Juice, indicate usage of the whole mangosteen fruit as a delivery vehicle leads to high xanthone absorption.

"These two studies put into context how to measure xanthones and how to effectively absorb these phytonutrients," said Edward Walker, Ph.D., of Weber State University, lead researcher on the published study. "A xanthone measurement standard is in place. Now claims concerning xanthone quantity and efficacy can be evaluated through credible research."

Published study sets xanthone measurement standard In the peer-reviewed method for quantifying xanthones from the mangosteen fruit, Walker used the high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis to create an analytical method that accurately identifies xanthones from the rind of the mangosteen fruit.

According to Walker, an 80:20 acetone/water mixture was used to extract the xanthones from dried, ground whole mangosteen fruit rind.

"A total of six xanthones were purified by preparative HPLC, utilizing the same solvent system and UV detection as for the analytical method," said Walker. "Each compound has unique UV absorption spectra that allows for easy identification of the xanthone found naturally in the mangosteen fruit."

Research lab ChromaDex developed the standards, and in accordance with AOAC protocol, performed a single lab validation to quantify xanthones through comparison measurement of detector response factors of individual xanthones. Walker said the research team chose the whole mangosteen fruit rind as the starting point because it holds the highest concentration of xanthones in their natural, unaltered state.

"Although researchers are in the process of identifying and measuring additional xanthones, this study, published in the Journal of Separation Science, ensures a more consistent and reliable marketing of mangosteen products to consumers relative to claims of xanthone content," said Walker.

Whole fruit drives absorption

A pre-clinical, preliminary 28-day study of XanGo Juice by Charles River Laboratories Montreal identified the bioavailability of xanthones to determine how many xanthones are actually absorbed and the pathway they travel. Study director Susan McPherson, MSc, senior research scientist at Charles River Laboratories, said preliminary research findings demonstrate that the proprietary whole fruit formula in XanGo Juice leads to high levels of xanthone absorption.

Ongoing research shows high absorption of xanthones in defined dosages, with elements of the whole mangosteen fruit as a delivery vehicle. Unnaturally elevated levels of xanthone consumption actually were shown to result in decreased absorption efficiency.

Preliminary results also showed long-term daily consumption of XanGo Juice to increase levels of xanthones in the blood.

"This is an issue of quality over quantity," said Mike Pugh, manager, research and development at XanGo. "These preliminary findings add further context to the published xanthone measurement study. Ongoing research shows artificially inflating or manipulating a product with xanthone extracts may not add any value. The mangosteen presents more value in its whole fruit form, as presented in XanGo Juice. There are many other phytochemicals found in the fruit that have beneficial effects which are lost in extraction or jeopardized when the natural balance of the fruit is manipulated."

XanGo Juice is produced through a proprietary whole fruit formula based on a puree of the entire mangosteen. The whole mangosteen fruit contains 39 different xanthones. The rind of the mangosteen is considered nature's most abundant source of xanthones. Xanthones, a unique class of phytonutrients, possess a range of powerful antioxidant properties.

Gene Erickson and The Taste of Life

A while back, I posted a testimonial about a man named Gene Erickson who got great results using mangosteen. Now there is a video with Gene telling his own story, so I thought I would re-post the article with the updated video.

Here it is:

Mangosteen: The Taste of Life

Here is a testimony about a man who got great results from using mangosteen. Keep in mind that I am not a doctor, and I DO NOT claim that these results can be achieved by anyone, or that anyone should disregard the advice of a doctor to treat symptoms of any illness. If drinking mangosteen juice makes you feel better, by all means, continue drinking it.

A wife's 'Mangosteen Juice' Story.

About six months ago my husband became ill, his whole body and joints were racked with pain. Some mornings his hands were so swollen that they were useless until he massaged them for hours. He had no energy or appetite and he was drastically losing weight. The doctors were doing blood tests, lung x-rays and prostate exams. They ruled out cancer, but they could not find what was wrong. They said that it was possibly rheumatoid arthritis. They prescribed an anti inflammatory drug called NAPROXEN.

That relieved a lot of the swelling and pain.

After a several months the situation was getting worse instead of better. The medication was affecting his stomach so he was prescribed an over the counter drug called Zantax. He, also started taking some well known dry vitamins as well as a liquid vitamin.

The doctors decided to do a test that would require that he be off of all drugs (except for over the counter pain relievers) for seven days. My husband was in sheer agony!

My friend had spoken about 'Mangosteen Juice' several times previous. We were skeptical, but we decided that it was worth a try. So she provided us with a bottle and he immediately began taking 2 ounces in the morning and two ounces at night.

About a week later he had his color back! He had a lot more energy, some of his appetite and he was able to cut back to one Naproxen a day!

He was just about out of the 'Mangosteen Juice' but, he still had the dry vitamins as well as the liquid vitamins. So we didn't get another bottle.

It wasn't very many days after he finished the 'Mangosteen Juice' before the pain and swelling were back. He was lacking energy and he had to start taking the full dose of Naproxen and Zantec AGAIN!

Needless to say we hurried to get more 'Mangosteen Juice'. At this writing in the last month (December 2004) my husband has only had to take a total of 3 Naproxen pills - IN THE WHOLE MONTH!

I am also taking 'Mangosteen Juice' and my energy has increased beyond belief. I now sing 'Mangosteen Juice' to everyone I know and meet!!!!!!!

Statistics about Heart Disease Discussed Here

According to the statistics about heart disease published in 2006 by the Center for Disease Control, 24.7 million adults have been diagnosed with heart disease. This figure is equivalent to 11.5% of the American adult population.

Reversing heart disease may not be possible in all cases, but according to the American Heart Association, most people with cardiovascular diseases, including heart failure, can live full and enjoyable lives, with the right treatment and attention to lifestyle.

The CDC is only one agency that publishes statistics about heart disease. “Diseases of the heart” is listed as the number one cause of death in the United States. It is important to remember that this figure includes all deaths caused by all of the different diseases of the heart, not just coronary artery disease, which is a narrowing of the arteries that lead to the heart.

For simplicity’s sake, the National Vital Statistics Report, which is responsible for publishing these statistics about heart disease deaths, does not include subcategories in this report. It is impossible to tell how many of these deaths (654,092 in 2004) were caused by coronary artery disease, heart failure or another disease affecting the heart.

Also known as atherosclerosis, coronary artery disease is the focus of some research concerning reversing heart disease.

According to the Health Center at the University of Texas, noninvasive positron emission tomography, a technology developed by Dr. K. Lance Gould allows doctors to see where heart blood flow has been restricted by early cholesterol buildup in the arteries, with greater accuracy than previous technologies, including the stress test.

A treatment program can be designed for the individual to remove the cholesterol from the artery wall, thus reversing heart disease processes. Reversing heart disease takes time, typically 18-24 months and there is some remaining risk of heart attack during this time, but the doctors and researchers at UT believe that treatment can be quite effective. Dietary and lifestyle changes will still be necessary to prevent additional cholesterol build-up, however.

According to statistics about heart disease published by the American Heart Association, 5 million Americans are living with heart failure and approximately 500,000 new cases are diagnosed each year.

Coronary artery disease and heart failure are not the same conditions, but untreated coronary artery disease can lead to heart failure. These and other statistics about heart disease indicate that coronary artery disease leads to heart failure about 20% of the time, which is distressing, since the latest technology can be effective at reversing heart disease and preventing its progression to heart failure.

Some doctors and researchers believe that coronary artery disease and many other diseases can be linked to inflammatory responses within the body. Being overweight can cause inflammation all over the body. Improper diet can lead to inflammation. Type II or adult onset diabetes, one of the many risk factors for heart disease, is believed to be linked to inflammation. All of this research supports the importance of proper diet, regular exercise and weight control.

Some researchers have reached the conclusion that natural anti-inflammatories may be safer and more effective than anti-inflammatory drugs, because natural anti-inflammatories target a number of inflammatory responses, while synthetic anti-inflammatories may target only a single inflammatory molecule.

The mangosteen -- an exotic fruit from Southeast Asia, not to be confused with the common mango -- has been shown in scientific research to contain a very potent anti-inflammatory, a Cox-2 inhibitor, as well as numerous vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants that can prevent blood clots; reduce bad cholesterol and support overall function of the heart.

Patient reports indicate that it helps control diabetes; lowering blood sugar levels and reducing the need for insulin. Mangosteen products may also help those who need to get up and take a walk, by increasing energy and improving blood flow. There is no magic health elixir for preventing or reversing heart disease, but mangosteen may help.

The statistics for heart disease may be depressing, but even more depressing is the fact that 66.3% of all Americans over the age of 20 are overweight, another risk factor for developing heart disease.

So, in summary, see your doctor, follow good dietary and lifestyle habits, and perhaps try a natural anti-inflammatory like the editors at restore-your-health.com.
